Lives: Montreal, Canada
I have been steadily honing a live-art practice since 1995. Over the years, my work has comprised text and sound pieces, site-specific group actions, solo interventions, and one-on-one relational encounters to consult, interview or feed. The ensemble of this work has been variously presented on stage (in cafes, theatres and music venues), in galleries, in domestic settings and in public spaces (both indoor, commercial locations such as restaurants and outdoor public spaces, such as sidewalks and parks). I also produce single channel video, photo works as well as write prose, poetry, and non-fiction.
I have performed and shown video work in festivals and arts events in Canada, the U.S., Europe, Australia and Japan. Solo and collective spoken word pieces have been broadcast on regional and national radio as well as featured on a variety of spoken word and music CD compilations.
My creative writing has been published in English- and French- language anthologies and journals. Critical collaborative texts have appeared in numerous arts magazines. My first book, Impure, Reinventing the Word an examination of the practice of spoken word was published by conundrum press in October, 2001 (co-authored with Vincent Tinguely).
