From the Off-Season, 2006 series.
I have always been intrigued by the idea of small town amusement parks and ragtag seaside resorts in the off-season. These gaudy pleasure zones take on a strikingly different patina once deserted by the summer crowds. What was loud becomes quiet. What was brash becomes tinged with melancholy. Add to this subtle alchemy, bleak off-season light and you arrive at someplace other: a world both familiar and strange, real and surreal, ordinary and magical.
