The fabricated cigarettes in the Sleepers series combine to create a faux smoking area that fits seamlessly into existing foyers, courtyards, hallways, etc. Handmade cigarette butts fashioned from acrylic paint on canvas are arranged on the floor along with real objects of debris such as bottle caps, plastic bits and scraps of foil. The floor is smudged with charcoal pastel to imitate scuffmarks from the act of stomping out the butts.
