The Legibility of Shadows consists of three shadow boxes with painted cracks. The three boxes are a gradation, starting with the painted image being darker and more present than the shadow it casts inside the box. The second box has a lighter image, similar in tone to the shadow. In the third box, the painted image disappears, leaving only the cast image of the shadow. The image of the cracks is the same pattern repeated.
