Using a familiar lo-fi infomercial format “The True Believer” explores the symbology and language of mainstream, new age, self-help to examine the concept of an idyllic world. An omniscient crystal form becomes the talisman to building an ideal future. The potential and contradictions of a progressive world made possible through technology and optimistic thinking are debated as I examine my own personal failures and attempt to clear my negative thoughts to create my ideal future.
