DMC embroidery floss, swan motives on cotton, Dimensions Variable

Contact Regarding Availability

Space and time play an essential role in embroidery. My pieces, tents and big sized curtains, generate a world of sleep, which is emphasised by the countless repetitions of motives of swans. The works expand, discovering and devouring the edges of space. In fact, here the perimeters of space are being embroidered .

While making the repetitive and numerous stitches one tends to loose the notion of time, I always imagined that shreds of thought, expectations and memories are stitched into the fabric by needle and thread. Maybe these shreds can be seen in the work the way a poem can be read between the lines.
